November 13, 2023.- Yesterday, Sunday, the Festival de Cine Fantástico de Canarias Ciudad de La Laguna Isla Calavera hosted, within its program, the national premiere of the international co-production 'In the Fire', with the presence of its protagonists Amber Heard and Eduardo Noriega, and the producers Pascal Borno and Alain Gillissen.
The presence of the Hollywood star and the actor from Santander caused a great deal of expectation from both the Festival audience and her fans, who awaited her arrival at the Multicines Tenerife and filled the screening room. In the supernatural thriller 'In the Fire', the actress gives life to a late 19th century alienist who arrives from New York to a remote plantation to attend to the case of a child who is being blamed for all the evils that plague the town. Eduardo Noriega plays the father, who also doubts his son's innocence after the death of his wife in an accident involving the little boy.
Post-screening talk
The film was followed by a colloquium with the participation of the artists and producer Pascal Borno, who recalled anecdotes from the shooting, which took place indoors in Puglia, Italy, for two and a half weeks, and on location in Guatemala, for a total of five weeks. Amber Heard, also executive producer of the film, thanked the Skull Island Festival for hosting this presentation and especially the public for their interest in this type of independent productions.
The actress applauded the work of the film's writer and director Conon Allyn, whom she considers very brave for creating such powerful characters as Grace Burnham in 'In the Fire', a woman ahead of her time, with a job usually performed by men and who must confront both the supernatural forces of the film's fantastic component and the society of the time.
The American artist, who revealed that she is personally scripting her next project, has made her mark on her time at Isla Calavera with her new film, ahead of the theatrical release of the DC Extended Universe's 'Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom' in December.
Eduardo Noriega received at the Opening Gala of the Festival de Cine Fantástico de Canarias Ciudad de La Laguna the Honorary Skull Island Award and this Monday there will be a new opportunity to enjoy his presence at the Festival, at the special event dedicated to the screening of 'Abre los ojos' (1997), by Alejandro Amenábar.
