San Cristóbal de La Laguna, September 30, 2024 - The City of La Laguna Isla Calavera Canary Islands Fantastic Film Festival, which will celebrate its eighth edition from November 8 to 17 in Tenerife, will participate this week in different events within the framework of the Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia.

Thus, this Friday morning, October 5, there will be a screening at the historic Prado Cinema of 'Godzilla' (1954), in 4K, and a subsequent colloquium on the universe of the Japanese titan, on the occasion of its 90th anniversary.

This same Friday afternoon will be the presentation of the book 'Kafka, lo kafkiano y el cine fantástico', an essay written by Canarian philologist Jonathan Allen and writer and film critic Jesús Palacios from Madrid, published by Hermenaute. This editorial work arises from the collaboration between the Isla Calavera Festival and the Horror and Fantasy Film Week of San Sebastian, which in turn is part of the association of specialized festivals November Fantasma, which is completed with the Fancine (Malaga Fantasy Film Festival) and Terrormolins (Molins de Rei Horror Film Festival).

Precisely, on Saturday, October 6th, representatives from the four festivals will be participating in a round table to unveil the contents of their fifth season. This meeting will be preceded by the presentation of the eighth edition of the Isla Calavera Festival in Sitges, with the announcement of new guests and part of the feature films that will be part of the lineup in the official competition section.
