The Festival de Cine Fantástico de Canarias Isla Calavera is organizing this Saturday, November 14, at the Hotel Escuela in Santa Cruz de Tenerife a new edition of the Industry Meeting that will bring together on the island prominent producers, directors and creators with representatives of the Canary Islands audiovisual industry. This professional activity is sponsored by the Development Society of the City Council of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, involved in giving visibility to the potential of professionals who develop their work in the Canary Islands and encourage the establishment of large audiovisual companies in the city.

With the help of the Tenerife Film Commission, guests will also be able to learn in detail about the possibilities of filming on the island, not only because of the fantastic and diverse locations that attract numerous recordings every year, but also because the Canary Islands offer the best tax incentives in Europe for both national and foreign productions.

This meeting aimed at professionals will be held in a safe environment and strictly following the Covid-19 protocol, through brief presentations and talks. Renowned filmmakers, some of them with films in competition within the framework of the IV Festival Isla Calavera, will learn first-hand why the Canary Islands have become a reference for many Hollywood productions.

Among the confirmed guests are names such as Javier Ruíz Caldera, director of feature films such as 'Spanish Movie', 'Anacleto: Agente secreto', or 'Malnazidos', pending release; producer Christian Gálvez, popular for his role as host of the game show 'Pasapalabra'; screenwriter, director and producer Borja Cobeaga ('8 apellidos vascos', 'Superlópez', 'Pagafantas'); screenwriter and director Paul Urkijo ('Dar-Dar', 'Errementari: El herrero y el diablo'); producer and costume designer Nerea Torrijos ('Akelarre', 'Errementari: El herrero y el diablo'); or writer and theater director Manuel Martínez Velasco, who debuts in feature films with 'Vampus Horror Tales', in which Víctor Matellano also participates as creative producer and director, who will also take part in this event.

Among the participants from the local industry, the performance of Blackout Films as coordinator of the Canary Islands area stands out, as well as other companies and professionals associated with the Tenerife Film Commission. This Industry Meeting is one of the activities programmed within the framework of the IV Canary Islands Fantastic Film Festival Isla Calavera, which will take place from November 13 to 21 in Tenerife.
