The third edition of the Canary Islands Fantastic Film Festival Isla Calavera will pay tribute to the prolific Madrid actor, director and screenwriter specializing in horror films, Paul Naschy, on the tenth anniversary of his death, precisely on the closing day of the event. His son Sergio Molina, director of the Nocturna Madrid International Fantastic Film Festival, will visit Isla Calavera to remember the artist and present to the public the screening of one of the key titles in the filmography of Jacinto Molina Álvarez, who since his participation in the film 'The Mark of the Werewolf' (Enrique López Eguiluz, 1968) adopted the stage name of Paul Naschy.

In addition, the Isla Calavera Festival will also have as its guest speaker Ángel Sala, director since 2001 of the Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia, the most important gathering dedicated to this genre in the world, which reaches its 52nd edition next October. The writer, screenwriter and film critic will also be participating in the program of parallel activities.

The registration of works in competition for the official feature and short film sections of the Festival Isla Calavera is now open through the digital platforms Festhome and Filmfreeway. The deadline for registration is October 10.

More news and guests of the third edition of the Festival de Cine Fantástico de Canarias Isla Calavera, an initiative of the Asociación Cultural Isla Calavera, the Asociación Cultural Charlas de Cine, the specialized publication TumbaAbierta and Multicines Tenerife, will be announced soon.
