November 17, 2023.- The Canarian videogame development studio PlayMedusa collaborates, for the fifth consecutive year, with the Festival de Cine Fantástico de Canarias Ciudad de La Laguna Isla Calavera, creating the videogame 'Kong & Little Miss Wray', based on the leitmotiv of the event that is being held in Tenerife from November 10 to 19. On this occasion, and on the occasion of King Kong Day that closes the Festival, PlayMedusa takes as reference the final scene of the film by Merian C. Cooper and Ernest B. Schoedsack's 1933 film in which Kong is shot down by U.S. Army biplanes. Thanks to the player, this time the legendary giant gorilla will be able to save his life.

In the video game, the user controls little Miss Wray's toy plane (a nod to the actress in the first movie in which the gorilla appeared, Fay Wray). Using toy weaponry (a boxing fist, dynamite hanging from a balloon, a Tesla tower and a Wile E. Coyote-approved anvil), the player can attract the attention of the aircraft attacking Kong, who, fed up with being shot at in New York, has come to Tenerife to climb the emblematic Torre de la Concepción in the historic center of the city of La Laguna.

'Kong & Little Miss Wray' is available at https://playmedusa.itch.io/kong-and-little-miss-wray to play online on PC, mobile and tablets, with no installation required, and free of charge. The game features footage from the original movie and can be completed in about ten minutes.

In previous editions, PlayMedusa has developed for the Skull Island Festival other fun videogames such as 'An American werewolf in L.A.', 'Titans came from the Ray' or 'Bestboy's Adventure'.

King Kong Day

As a finishing touch to the seventh edition of the Festival, Sunday, November 19 will be King Kong Day and will be entirely dedicated to the legendary giant gorilla of Skull Island, which this year celebrates its 90th anniversary.
