The Festival de Cine Fantástico de Canarias Ciudad de La Laguna, Isla Calavera returns to the island of La Palma to celebrate a special event this Saturday, November 5, aimed at the whole family. The eighties classic 'The Goonies', produced by Steven Spielberg, written by Chris Columbus and directed by Richard Donner in 1985, will be shown at the Teatro Cine Chico in Santa Cruz de La Palma and after the screening there will be a cineforum with the participation of actor, comedian, singer and cartoonist Carlos Areces, popular for his characters in film ('Balada triste de trompeta') and television ('La que se avecina', 'El pueblo').

Free admission, with tickets picked up at the box office on the day of the screening, until full capacity is reached, this event will begin at 6:00 pm.

Starring Sean Astin, Corey Feldman, Josh Brolin, Martha Plimpton, Jonathan Ke Quan, Kerri Green and Jeff Cohen, 'The Goonies' is considered "culturally, historically and aesthetically significant" by the Library of Congress. It chronicles the adventures of a group of friends who live on the waterfront in Goon, Astoria, but their homes have been bought and are to be demolished. However, they will live their last adventure in search of a pirate treasure to save the neighborhood.
