The University of La Laguna collaborates with the Festival de Cine Fantástico de Canarias Ciudad de La Laguna Isla Calavera by disseminating among its students and staff the activities that will take place within the framework of this cinematographic event to be held between November 10 and 19 at the Multicines Tenerife.

This collaboration has been closed this Tuesday, October 31, after the signing of the general collaboration agreement between the academic institution and the festival, signed by the rector Francisco García Rodríguez, and the co-director of the festival and representative of the Cultural Association Charlas de Cine, Ramón González Trujillo. Also present at the signing were the Vice Rector for Cultural and University Extension, Isabel León Pérez, and the other co-director of the festival, Daniel Fumero.

This agreement is framed within one of the purposes set out in the university statutes, referring to the dissemination of knowledge and culture through outreach activities. Therefore, it will promote the participation of the university community in this event through its dissemination channels and by distributing the one thousand tickets with special discounts for students, faculty and administrative staff that the organization has made available to the center. The University of La Laguna will announce in the coming days the procedure to be followed to withdraw these invitations.

During the signing ceremony, the rector also highlighted the cultural work carried out by the institution's Film Classroom, in whose coordination the association Charlas de Cine participates, recalling that the film forums organized by the entity are a good environment to develop debates that stimulate the critical spirit that should be cultivated within academic training.
