CALAVERITAS, CHARACTERS OF A LINE OF DIDACTIC COMICS, ARE BORN

The Calaveritas
The Calaveritas

The Festival de Cine Fantástico de Canarias Ciudad de La Laguna, Isla Calavera, in its commitment to the dissemination and didactics of cinema from all its fields, presents, together with the University of La Laguna, "Los Calaveritas", characters that are born within the framework of its sixth edition, which will take place from November 18 to 26.

With script by Ramón González Trujillo and illustrated by Aithami "Tamo" Castellano and Roberto "Dobe" Rodríguez, the characters of "Los Calaveritas", based on an original idea by Daniel Fumero, star in a series of comic pages and other didactic materials full of humor and references to the great classics of the seventh art, and aimed at fostering a passion for cinema and audiovisual culture. Schools will find in this proposal a great ally to complete their educational strategy.

Part of the collection of materials, both in Spanish and English, is now available for free download through the Festival's official website.

This project is born from the didactic and training area of the Festival, with the support of the University of La Laguna through its Aula de Cine. The objective of "Los Calaveritas" is to provide teachers with free tools to help them in the teaching of film and film culture. "Los Calaveritas", the first initiative for the teaching of cinema to be promoted through the agreement between Isla Calavera and the University of La Laguna, responds to a profile open to any age, paying special attention to promoting film culture among young people through entertainment. In addition, the vignettes will make cross-cutting references to the history and locations of the Canary Islands, giving the narrative an added value related to the Archipelago.
