The Opening Gala of the Festival de Cine Fantástico de Canarias Ciudad de La Laguna Isla Calavera, which will take place this Friday at the Teatro Leal de La Laguna, will host the presentation of the S. S. Venture Award for Canarian Talent to the brilliant film producer born in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Adrián Guerra.

After the acclaimed Buried (2019), directed by Rodrigo Cortés and starring Ryan Reynolds, a commercial and critics' vein, he founded Nostromo Pictures, producer of international hits such as Red Lights (2012), with Cillian Murphy, Sigourney Weaver and Robert De Niro, Grand Piano (2013), with Elijah Wood, or the Spanish Palmeras en la nieve (2015), Los renglones torcidos de Dios and Mario Casas' directorial debut Mi soledad tiene alas, among many others.

His productions have participated in major international festivals such as Sundance, Toronto, San Sebastian and Venice, and have received more than 25 nominations for the Goya, Forqué, Sant Jordi and Méliés awards.

Adrián Guerra recently presented at the Sitges Film Festival Rich Flu, by Galder Gaztelu-Urrutia, and the Prime Video film Apocalipsis Z, directed by Carles Torrens, and has just released in theaters the new feature film by Rodrigo Cortés, Escape, executive produced by Martin Scorsese and starring Mario Casas and Anna Castillo.
