San Cristóbal de La Laguna, July 19, 2025 - The Festival de Cine Fantástico de Canarias Ciudad de La Laguna Isla Calavera presents the official poster for its ninth edition, which will take place from November 7 to 16, inspired by the film Metropolis (1927), a masterpiece of silent films and one of the pillars of science fiction cinema and German expressionism. The poster is the work of Daniel Fumero, co-director of the festival with Ramón González Trujillo.

In addition, Metropolis will be shown in November at Multicines Tenerife, the festival venue, in a special event under the direction of Luis Posada, famous for dubbing Johnny Depp, Jim Carrey and Leonardo DiCaprio into Spanish, in which other great dubbing actors and actresses from our country, such as Graciela Molina (Natalie Portman, Christina Ricci, Kirsten Dunst), will also participate to give voice to the silent film.

The screening will be accompanied by live original music by Jonay Armas, to fully enjoy this immersive experience, an original production of the Isla Calavera Festival that has become an indispensable date in its annual program. First film declared World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO, thanks to the recovery of lost footage and its restoration. Metropolis has become an outstanding visual and thematic reference.
