Sitges, October 5, 2024 - As part of the Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia, the City of La Laguna Isla Calavera Canary Islands Fantastic Film Festival announces two new luxury guests and part of the program of screenings at its eighth edition, to be held from November 8 to 17. Renowned actor Ron Perlman (Hellboy) and legendary actress Adrienne Barbeau, John Carpenter's muse, will both be receiving honorary awards at the Festival, joining a star-studded lineup that includes the names of Lou Ferrigno (The Incredible Hulk), Tami Stronach (The Neverending Story) and the German director Marcus Nispel (remakes of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Friday the 13th).

Born in New York in 1950, Ron Perlman made his film debut in 1981 with the prehistoric adventure In Search of Fire by Jean-Jacques Annaud, with whom he repeated in The Name of the Rose and Enemy at the Gates. With Jean-Pierre Jeunet, he worked on the steampunk fable The City of Lost Children and Alien: Resurrection. Winner of the Golden Globe in 1989 for his starring role in the Beauty and the Beast series, where he shared the screen with Linda Hamilton, he was immortalized by Guillermo del Toro in his Hellboy films. With the Mexican filmmaker, he has also maintained a close collaboration, since he appeared in his debut film Cronos (1993), and later in Blade II, Pacific Rim, The Alley of Lost Souls or the animated film Pinocchio. He also participated in the film version of Conan the Barbarian directed by Marcus Nispel in 2011.

Adrienne Barbeau was born in California in 1945, and since the early 1980s she has become one of the great ladies of American horror and science fiction cinema. She made her film debut with John Carpenter's The Fog, and repeated with the director in 1997: Rescue in New York. These films were followed by George A. Romero's horror anthology Creepshow and Wes Craven's The Swamp Thing. As a voice actress, she also has an important filmography and was the voice of Catwoman in Batman: The Animated Series and The New Batman Adventures. More recently she has participated in the eco-terror film Unearth (2020), Hellblazers (2022) and the television series American Horror Stories.
