San Cristóbal de La Laguna, July 19, 2025.- The Canary Islands Fantastic Film Festival Ciudad de La Laguna Isla Calavera announces the first guest stars of its ninth edition, which will take place from November 7 to 16 in Tenerife, the American actress Jenette Goldstein and Canadian actor William Hope, who will star in a special event around the movie Aliens: The Return (1986), by James Cameron.
Jenette Goldstein will collect the Isla Calavera Legend of the Fantastic Award in recognition of the indelible mark she has left on film and television, especially in the action and science fiction genre, following her film debut as the unforgettable Private Vasquez in the sequel to Alien, the eighth passenger. The actress also participated in the vampire film The Night Commuters (1987), directed by Kathryn Bigelow, and had prominent roles in Lethal Weapon 2 (Richard Donner, 1989) and in Terminator 2 (1991), again under the orders of James Cameron, with whom he would collaborate again for a cameo in Titanic (1997). In television, he has appeared in series such as A dos metros bajo tierra, ER, 24, MacGyver o Alias.
William Hope also has a special link to fantasy and horror films, but his most iconic role remains that of Lieutenant Scott Gorman in the sci-fi/horror classic. In his filmography, other titles of the genre stand out, such as Hellbound: Hellraiser II (Clive Barker, 1988), Dark Shadows (Tim Burton, 2012) and more recently The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2022), the ninth installment of the franchise.
The announcement of the presence of Jenette Goldstein and William Hope took place during the first pre-festival event Isla Calavera 2025, held this Friday, July 18, which revolved around the screening of The Omen (Richard Donner, 1976).
